Helena Bello

Helena Bello is graduating from School Without Walls High School and will be attending the University of WisconsinMadison in the fall as a Posse Scholar. Throughout all four years of her high school career, Helena has been a member of Fly By Light, a social justice club that encourages and helps students with creating their own social justice campaigns in their communities. She has worked on campaigns that bring awareness to mutual aid, student mental health, community violence, and non-violent education for students. She also founded the Ornithology Club at her school in her junior year, after rediscovering her passion for birdwatching and conservation during the early months of the pandemic. Finally, Helena is a member of the National Honor Society at SWW. She plans to major in Wildlife Ecology at UW-Madison, and hopefully attend law school afterward, to further pursue her passion for environmental justice and conservation
