AGENDA
To implement Kari’s Law and Ray Baum’s Act in 2019, the FCC adopted new rules that require certain multi-line telephone systems (MLTS) to support direct 911 dialing and notifications to a central location, and convey relevant location information to appropriate emergency communications centers. Soon after, the COVID-19 pandemic caused enterprises to rapidly shift from legacy fixed on-premises telephone systems to innovative IP-based solutions that support remote communications on fixed and non-fixed devices. This CLE will review the FCC’s new rules under Kari’s Law and Ray Baum’s Act and discuss the solutions and challenges to implement those rules in a post-COVID-19 era.
