The FCBA Judicial Practice Committee and the State and Local Practice Committee will co-sponsor a CLE on Thursday, May 16, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. ET entitled Litigating Before PUCs. This program will be held virtually via the Zoom platform.
The FCBA will apply for 2.0 hours of MCLE credit from the VA Bar. This program has not yet been approved.
FCBA no longer offers CA MCLE credit to attendees. If you wish to obtain CA credit, you must apply for it on your own. Public Utility Commissions (“PUCs”) have become a more common battleground for a variety of issues in the telecommunications space across the country. Notably, the rules for handling these proceedings vary state by state and present a variety of traps and challenges for unwary litigants. This CLE will convene a diversity of experts on how to litigate when handling cases in front of PUCs, as well as spotlighting basic information and state-by-state practices for how PUCs operate.

The first part of the program will provide an overview of PUCs – their general purpose, the role they play, how they are composed, the rules that apply when litigating before them, and related judicial relief, among other topics.
