CLE Seminar: The NG911 Transition: The FCC’s Nationwide Framework

October 15 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT

The FCBA Homeland Security and Emergency Communications Committee will sponsor a CLE on Tuesday, October 15 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. ET entitled The NG911 Transition: The FCC’s Nationwide Framework.  This program will be held virtually via the Zoom platform.

The FCC recently adopted the first nationwide Next Generation 911 (“NG911”) transition rules that define the responsibilities and set deadlines for originating service providers (“OSPs”) to implement NG911 capabilities on their networks and deliver 911 calls to NG911 systems.  The FCC has said that these new rules will expedite the nationwide transition to NG911, lead to faster call delivery and improved service reliability, and save lives.  This CLE will review the FCC’s new rules, the next steps for OSPs and public safety entities, and outstanding technical and legal issues. Representatives from the FCC, public safety community and service providers have been invited to participate.  This program will be held virtually via the Zoom platform.

The FCBA will apply for 2.0 hours of MCLE credit from the VA Bar.  This program has not yet been approved.
