Topic: Updates and Perspectives on the European Union’s Standard Essential Patent Regulation. The European Union’s proposed standard essential patent (SEP) Regulation has drawn attention from many in the communications industry over the last few years. The Regulation is intended to improve the framework governing the inclusion of patented technologies in technical standards and to augment the licensing process for these unique patents through enhanced transparency and reduced information asymmetries.
The FCBA’s Intellectual Property Committee invites you to join an informal lunch and learn discussion with experts who will share background and context for the EU’s SEP Regulation and insights into status and the process moving forward, offer perspectives on its features and the impact on EU (and U.S.) businesses and the broader tech industry, and take your questions.
Presenters: John Dubiansky, Senior Director, Intellectual Property and Standards Policy at Dolby Laboratories and David Katz, Partner, PacTech Law
Lunch WILL BE provided for in-person attendees!
